Breaking Cultural Gender Roles + Ceviche

Ignacio Corona, dad of 2 and Director of Merchandising at Adobe Maison, talks with Reesa, our resident couples therapist for parents about their real parenting struggles. He is sharing navigating parenting challenges, the parent support and resources they found along the way, and any parenting tips they have discovered through their journey. While they chat parenting insights and stories, they are recipe sharing balancing parenting and family meals. He talks about modeling flexibility in gender roles for his daughters and shares his Shrimp Ceviche Cocktail recipe. Ignacio discusses his journey in taking on more traditionally women presenting roles to support his wife's goals and model to his daughters a new narrative. Ceviche/Shrimp Cocktail

 

INGREDIENTS:

(2) Large Cucumbers diced

(4) Medium Carrots diced

(1) batch Cilantro diced

(1) small or half a large red onion diced

(3) Lemons

(3) Limes

(3) Mangos diced

(1) 2LB Bag of medium shrimp

(3) Jalapenos deseeded and diced

Salt (Tablespoon)

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Cook in boiling water for 2 mins and cool rapidly, cut each shrimp in half

  2. Juice lemons and limes

  3. Bathe onions in citrus juice

  4. Mix all ingredients together and season to taste
